1 There was a man in Caesarea named Cornelius, who was a captain in the Roman army regiment called "The Italian Regiment." 2 He was a religious man; he and his whole family worshiped God. He also did much to help the Jewish poor people and was constantly praying to God. 3 It was about three o'clock one afternoon when he had a vision, in which he clearly saw an angel of God come in and say to him, "Cornelius!" 4 He stared at the angel in fear and said, "What is it, sir?" The angel answered, "God is pleased with your prayers and works of charity, and is ready to answer you. 5 And now send some men to Joppa for a certain man whose full name is Simon Peter. 6 He is a guest in the home of a tanner of leather named Simon, who lives by the sea." 7 Then the angel went away, and Cornelius called two of his house servants and a soldier, a religious man who was one of his personal attendants. 8 He told them what had happened and sent them off to Joppa...
24... [Peter] arrived in Caesarea, where Cornelius was waiting for him, together with relatives and close friends that he had invited... 27... where he found many people gathered... 33... Now we are all here in the presence of God, waiting to hear anything that the Lord has instructed you to say." 34 Peter began to speak: "I now realize that it is true that God treats everyone on the same basis. 35 Those who fear Him and do what is right are acceptable to Him, no matter what race they belong to. 36 You know the message He sent to the people of Israel, proclaiming the Good News of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all. 37 You know of the great event that took place throughout the land of Israel, beginning in Galilee after John preached his message of baptism. 38 You know about Jesus of Nazareth and how God poured out on Him the Holy Spirit and power. He went everywhere, doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, for God was with Him. 39 We are witnesses of everything that He did in the land of Israel and in Jerusalem. Then they put Him to death by nailing Him to a cross. 40 But God raised Him from death three days later and caused Him to appear, 41 not to everyone, but only to the witnesses that God had already chosen, that is, to us who ate and drank with Him after He rose from death. 42 And He commanded us to preach the gospel to the people and to testify that He is the one whom God has appointed judge of the living and the dead. 43 All the prophets spoke about Him, saying that all who believe in Him will have their sins forgiven through the power of His Name."
44 While Peter was still speaking, the Holy Spirit came down on all those who were listening to his message. 45 The Jewish believers who had come from Joppa with Peter were amazed that God had poured out his gift of the Holy Spirit on the Gentiles also. 46 For they heard them speaking in strange tongues and praising God's greatness. Peter spoke up: 47 "These people have received the Holy Spirit, just as we also did. Can anyone, then, stop them from being baptized with water?" 48 So he ordered them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay with them for a few days.
Wow, that was amazing! And it's amazing to me too that Cornelius, a Roman, who probably grew up in the Roman culture which didn't know God, not only knew Him, but knew Him at a profound level. He was always talking to God and ever mindful of our being in His presence constantly. It makes one think twice about how one should behave, remembering that we are always before God and live out our lives on a stage -- as Paul puts it, we are surrounded by a large crowd of witnesses. I want to be like Cornelius, ever mindful of the Lord. It's so easy to get sidetracked in this world and take our focus off of Him. But that leads to a lesser relationship with God, and a lesser life as well. Cornelius is awesome. I must get back to living like that!

Thanks! Yep, I've got to stick to my goal. :) But, I think I'll be posting more often in the future.
The music from those movies is definitely incredible! :D
Yeah, I've been writing monthly, but in the future I shall write every two weeks or so. Thanks for stopping by! :)
Oooh, love that second car!! :)
Yeah, there are so many life distractions-even apparently good things-that distract us from the true goal!
Hey, Erin!
Cool. I'm glad you like it! :)
Hi, Danika!
You said it. We have to be sooo careful! :)
:D
eeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwweeeeee sweet! i like the white one! it makes me giddy. i heer gas is gunna run out in 2018.. so, um, i guess just by o lot of gas ;)!
Hahaha. Lol. Well we just found new oil reserves in the gulf of Mexico! And even if we do run out of oil, we can grow plants to make ethanol and convert the cars to run completely on ethanol, so the cars we have won't need gas anymore! :D
Or, I could just do what you're saying and buy lots of gas, and I could store it all in tanks beneath my house. Then I would have my own gas station! Lol.
No matter what happens, God's got us covered! ;)
Thanks for stopping by! Talk to you later! ^_^
Oh, I like your new profile pic too, by the way! :)
Yeah, we are way too dependent on gasoline, and the oil companies subject us to price-gouging! They are so greedy (most of them anyway). Grrrrrr. :(
Alternative fuels should really help solve that problem. Biofuels, hydrogen fuel cells, electricity (using electric motors), etc. When I graduate, maybe I will be able to help do reasearch in these areas... :)
You bet! I hope Jesus comes back soon too! That would solve everything! :D
Hi again! Thanks for the prayer. I really appreciate it. So, hey, what are you going to university for/what is your major?
Hi, Danika! :)
You're welcome. The results after prayer never cease to amaze me. (But sometimes you have to wait a long time for an answer, meh).
I'm at university to become a chemist. At the moment my heart's desire is to study other things, but God has steered me into to chemistry. I used to love it a lot, but then some horrible teachers/advisors drove that love out of me. I'm sure with God's help, I will rediscover it. ;)
Have you decided on a major yet?
hmmmmmmm.... gas!
Hey, Zaya! :)
Welcome back. Hehheh. Yeah, gas. Well, at least the price of gas has been coming down a lot lately! Hopefully, it will stay down...
Thanks! :)
That is so awesome, Aly! God is so amazing!!! You are really developing your relationship with Him! Way to go! :D
